A technology transfer center that runs its own communication

A university technology transfer center with no comms hire, taught in one month to write, design and plan its own content, in a system it owns.

01

What they were up against

SE TTC, a technology transfer center at Semmelweis University (one of the best medical universities of the world), had deep scientific expertise but no dedicated communications person, and no way to put that expertise in front of the medical-device and pharma partners it needed to reach, especially before conference season. There was no shared routine or template system, the internal knowledge was not structured for an outside audience, and communication stalled in slow internal approval. Hiring a comms specialist was not the answer: the work had to be split across the team and made repeatable.

02

What we did

We ran a four-week enablement project built to leave the team self-sufficient. Week one was a workshop that pulled the knowledge out of the team: who knows what, and which topics are worth telling. Then we built the system: copy and creative templates (posts, carousels, event and page covers, infographics), a custom AI setup to the team's topics and voice, and plain-language guides for LinkedIn, copywriting, creative-making and AI prompting. Week three was a second workshop that trained the team on all of it, LinkedIn, template use, prompting, a good-versus-bad creative error-finding game, the content calendar, and everyone wrote and uploaded their first posts together. Week four was a consultation period, twice a week on whatever they had in progress, and a website-optimization recommendation pack handed over.

03

What came of it

  • The goal set for the second workshop was met: by the end everyone could write a post, make a creative and work in the content calendar on their own.
  • The center owns the whole system, the templates, the custom AI setup and the guides, so producing content no longer depends on a single hire.
  • Communication is split across the team by topic, with shared guidelines and a content calendar, that makes scattered expertise into a repeatable routine.
  • A website-optimization recommendation pack was also handed over for the next step: making external visibility more appealing to medical-device and pharma partners.
